Day 5: Allah’s Animals

Guest blogger:  ZaydMy dua is to have all animal cruelty end. I love animals. I have a dog, a cat (on loan to my Dada), a turtle, 18 fish, two red crabs, and two frogs.  Api says she feels most at home on an airplane; but I feel most at home in a pet store. My friend Charles and I even dug a pond in our backyard this summer, so frogs and fish could have a home if they needed one. When I watched these horrifying videos of how people treat animals, I thought, what did those animals ever do to us? Why are we treating them like they are so bad? If anything, they are keeping the ecosystem in balance. In China, people were keeping poor Moon Bears locked up in cages so small that in a few cases the imprint of the cage formed on the bears. Up North, people would kill seals forgetting that they have feelings and that they feel pain as much as we do. They would hit their skulls and leave some to suffer through that pain. In Africa, poachers tranquilize rhinos and use an axe to cut off the horn, cuttings threw the bone and leaving a bad wound. When the rhino wakes up, it would cry out in pain and agony.I pray that Allah keeps all the animals in the world out of harms way and that all animals can live the lives they are supposed to live. If animals need to be killed for food, we must make sure that it is done in the most humane way as possible.Day 5, Dua 5: Protecting all of Allah’s creatures
