30 Days Journal
I am so excited to launch the 30 Days Journal!
It has been a privilege to hear the personal stories that many of you have shared, inspired by the book, 30 Days: Stories of Gratitude, Traditions, and Wisdom. As I had hoped, the book has become a starting point for people to think about their own stories.
We all have stories inside us that we cherish. Our stories are the most precious things we have.
The 30 Days Journal is an invitation for you to reflect on your stories and to write them down. Inspired by the themes in the 30 Days book, there are six sections — gratitude, traditions, wisdoms, inspiration, kindness, and reflections – with prompts to encourage ideas, graceful artwork by extraordinary artist Aadil Abedi to encourage reflection, and Rumi's poetry for inspiration.
Please click on this video below to see the beautiful, handmade journal.
It would mean so much to me if you clicked on this 2-minute video to see why I am so passionate about each of us capturing our stories.
I encourage you to take the 30 days of Ramadan, whether you celebrate or not, to answer one prompt each day.
At the end of 30 days, you’ll have your own treasure trove of stories. If you feel comfortable, please take a photo of a page or two and send them to me (salma@salmahasanali.com); I’d love to get to know you better.
There is nothing more precious, more uniquely ours, than our stories; it’s what makes us who we are. I hope you’ll take a few moments each day to give this gift to yourself - and to your family and future generations.
Because each one of us is mortal, but our stories endure.
30 prompts to invite reflection: what mistakes are you grateful for; what life lesson did you learn the hard way; what is a family tradition you cherish most, and so on.
Beautiful artwork by Aadil Abedi of Sufi dervishes and more - thank you dear Aadil!
Postcards so you can share your story with people you’d like to get to know better. (And a bookmark, and envelope to keep your memories).
Rumi’s poetry, including the exquisite ‘The Guest House”translated by Kabir Helminski.
Each journal is stitched by hand - and designed and produced by Shahidul Alam’s Drik organization in Dhaka. Thank you so much Reza and team for this beautiful handmade journal, and video.
A unique, meaningful gift - for yourself, for your family and friends, and for future generations.
