I was waiting for this picture - my mom (middle) and her two sisters (and another smiling down from heaven) - reading my book, our book.

This book captures their stories - Dr. Khala reminiscing about Pakistan on a very special trip home; mom sharing how much she loved 'khajla pheni' for sehri growing up; Khala Jani caring for our sprawling DC clan; my reflections and love for all my 'mothers', including Bari Khala, Mami Jaan, Talat Mami, Phuppi, Maman, and many more who treat me like a daughter. This book includes their wisdoms, teachings, and traditions - it's their legacy for their children and grandchildren - for all of us. We are all the product of our mothers’ stories.
