Metro Area for their dedication to community service. The awards honor women in categories including healthcare, real estate, professional services, technology, public sector, rising heroine and lifetime achievement.Salma was chosen from a select group of women for giving back to her community through tremendous feats of volunteerism that go above and beyond her employment requirements. Salma’s tireless dedication to causes such as KindWorks, as well as her writing and storytelling efforts to share the human stories of refugees, immigrants and other marginalized communities, solidified her placement as a finalist.Salma’s life passion is to inspire every person to feel that they can make a difference in the world, and that impacting one life matters. She is committed to nurturing a sense of community where people respect each other’s cultures, faiths, and differences. As Chief Inspiration Officer, Salma has helped lead KindWorks for the past 11 years and is its longest serving Board member. Through her writing and blog, Salma reveals how much people have in common and how our most important bond is our common humanity.
