30 Wisdoms from our Elders: Intro Video

Dear friends,Ramadan Mubarak, and welcome back to ’30 days 30 deeds’!  I’m excited to be back on this journey with all of you, and particularly excited for this year’s theme - 30 wisdoms from our elders.Ramadan is a time to slow down and reflect; to think about what’s important in our lives, and what we want to prioritize. I think the wisdoms that we’ve learned from our elders can guide us, center us, and give us strength, courage, solace and peace of mind. For the past several months, I’ve been asking people I meet what wisdom comes to their mind; something an elder may have said to them, or something they’ve learned by watching how a loved one leads his or her own life. Typically it’s the first thing that people think of – it doesn’t have to be the most poignant or profound, but something that holds special meaning to them.In the next 30 days, I’ll share some of these wisdoms, from family, friends and others I’ve met recently.I didn’t realize when I came up with this idea earlier this year, that my father would pass away just a few weeks ago. I’ve learned some of my life’s most essential wisdoms and lessons from my father; I’ll share these with you too.I would love to make this year’s blog as interactive as possible. Please share your own wisdoms; message me or share in the comments. And please encourage friends to follow along and share also: by liking ‘30 days 30 deeds’ on Facebook; following my Instagram @salmahasanali; or subscribing to the newsletter on my website – www.salmahasanali.com.Let’s start a conversation to exchange our life’s most meaningful lessons.30 days. 30 wisdoms from our elders. InshAllah. This one’s for you, Dad.
