30 Days Book

I'm so excited, and a bit nervous, to announce that my first book is coming out in a couple of weeks, right before Ramadan iA! This is based on a project that I've been doing the past 9 years, but decided to turn into a book just three months ago. "30 Days - Stories of Gratitude, Traditions, and Wisdom" is a commemorative collection from the the "30 Days" blog, on its 10th anniversary, with exquisite artwork by Afghan artist Sughra Hussainy.
What started as a family project to share the essence of the month of Ramadan with my kids, grew into an opportunity for people from different backgrounds around the world to connect around themes to which we can all relate -- expressing gratitude, doing good deeds, preserving traditions, cherishing wisdoms, and more. My hope is that this collection of heartfelt stories from so many will encourage conversations amongst families across generations, with neighbors and friends, and with people who at first may seem different from us. It is through our personal stories, after all, that we can get to know each other better. And at a time when we've been isolated and disconnected, we need this sense of community more than ever.

I'll share more about the book and its unique qualities - only a few hundred being produced, each one bound by hand - in subsequent posts, but for now I want to thank each and every person who contributed to the blog, became a loyal follower over the years, and shared and championed it -- you are co-authors of this effort, and it wouldn't have happened without your support - thank you so much, truly.
